Skin Acne Cure

Acne is a skin problem affecting not only teenagers, but adults as well, both males and females but don't despair as it is 100% treatable. There all types of cures for skin acne, ranging from laser therapy to hormonal treatment. Recent studies have proven the success of laser treatment methods as they are both safe and effective. It's unclear though, how long the effect of laser treatments lasts. Another con is that such interventions are costly. On the other hand, hormonal treatments, including oral contraceptives, have long been recognized by dermatologists to be an effective treatment option for women who have acne, no matter how severe.

To get a better understanding of skin acne cure, let's get an idea of what acne is and what is causing it. Scientists have proven that acne is initiated by the male hormones called androgens. Over production of androgens increases the oil secretion and blockage of pores, which leads to the initial non-inflamed spots of acne. Then comes the acne bacteria, which lives in an oil-rich environment (such as in the pores) leading to inflammation which becomes visibly apparent as red pimples, pustules and lumps. As you can probably guess, any skin acne cure based on hormonal treatment is meant to interrupt this initial phase of this cascading sequence of acne development. There are products that contain estrogen (female hormone) in order to compensate for the over-production of androgens, hence reducing the oil secretion. Diane-35®, Tri-Cyclen®, Alesse®, and Yasmin® contain progestins with minimal androgenic or anti-androgenic activity, providing an important therapeutic option for women with acne.

As mentioned, the main causes for acne are clogged pores, excessive oil secretion and bacteria. A skin acne cure system should consist of three steps - clean, clear and treat. The first step requires an application of cleanser on the skin. There are special cleansers for acne-prone skin that gently clean and exfoliates while smoothing imperfections. Step two is refreshing with clearing tonic to open the clogged pores & reduce excess oil. Such products contain natural additives to sooth, refresh and return your skin to its natural healthy balance. Final step is the application of a day treatment serum, which eliminates acne bacteria & controls excess oil production. There is also a night treatment serum which exfoliates dead skin cells & calms irritation and redness.

An important fact is that your diet greatly affects acne. Of course, acne is not directly caused by food and no one has found a food that is effective against acne. Some foods may aggravate your acne, so if you notice anything like that, limit or avoid them in your diet. Caffeine products, chocolates and excessively salty foods aggravate acne in certain individuals. Still, it must be pointed out that having the proper diet helps the body maintain healthy skin.
